Following the release of Bridgerton Season 2, Claudia Jessie, who portrays Eloise Bridgerton, has shared her thoughts on the finale's shocking twist and the tension between Eloise and her confidante Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

In an interview with Vulture, Jessie revealed that the finale's bombshell discovery—that Penelope is the mysterious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown—was a surprise to her as well as the audience. "I didn't know that until I read the script for Episode 8," she admitted.

Regarding Eloise and Penelope's fractured friendship, Jessie acknowledged the strain it has put on their bond. "I think it's going to be very, very difficult because Eloise is someone who values honesty above all," she said. "So I think she's going to find it very difficult to forgive Penelope for keeping such a big secret from her."

Jessie also hinted at potential developments in Eloise's storylines in Season 3. "I think we're going to see Eloise take more control of her own life," she said. "I think she's going to start to make her own decisions and figure out what she wants."
